Best Tax Relief Is, LLC (“BTR”) takes the privacy and protection of personal information very seriously. By visiting the Site and/or using the BTR Services, you acknowledge that you accept the practices and policies outlined in this privacy policy (“Privacy Policy”). Unless otherwise defined herein, capitalized terms shall have the meanings assigned to such terms set forth in the BTR Terms of Service, which incorporates this Privacy Policy by reference.

  1. What This Privacy Policy Covers

This Privacy Policy describes BTR’s use of Personal Information and Anonymous Information that we collect when you use our BTR Site and Services.

“Personal Information” is information that is personally identifiable like names, age, gender, date of birth, addresses, e-mail addresses, or phone numbers, as well as other non-public information that is associated with the foregoing.

“Anonymous Information” means information that is not associated with or linked to your Personal Information; Anonymous Information does not permit the identification of individual persons.

We collect and use Personal Information and Anonymous Information as described in this Privacy Policy from the visitors of our Site.

By using the BTR Site and Services or submitting Personal Information through BTR’s Site and Services, you expressly consent to the processing of your Personal Information according to this Privacy Policy.

  1. Personal Information Collected Via Technology

As you access the BTR Site and use the Services, certain information may also be collected, including your Internet Protocol (IP) address and the browser that you use to visit the Site. The Site and Services create a log file of the IP addresses of the visitors and users of the Site and Services. BTR also stores a small text file called a “Cookie” on your computer to store your login information and your personal preferences for the BTR Site and Services.

BTR may use both session Cookies (which expire once you close your web browser) and persistent Cookies (which stay on your computer until you delete them). While you will still be able to use the Site and Services if you disable Cookies in your browser, certain parts of the Site and Services may not function as effectively. You must have Cookies enabled in your web browser to use the complete functionality of BTR’s Site and Services.

BTR may also use pixels, which are small pieces of code that help another server measure web traffic and other analytics, often used in conjunction with Cookies. We use Cookies and pixels to better understand the needs of our users and to provide better services.

We may implement third party advertising or other content on the Site and Service that may use clear gifs or other forms of web beacons, which allow the third party content provider to read and write Cookies to your web browser in connection with your viewing of the third party content on the Site. Information collected through web beacons is collected directly by third parties. Information collected by a third party in this manner is subject to that third party’s own data collection, use, and disclosure policies.

We may also obtain information about you from third party sources, such as our partners or advertisers. If we combine or associate information from other sources with your information that we collect through the Site or Services, we will treat the combined information in accordance with this Privacy Policy, the Terms, and applicable law.

When you send us a text message, we collect the mobile phone number from which you sent us such text message.

When you use a mobile device such as a smartphone to access or utilize our Site or Services, it may use technology to automatically collect:

Usage Details. When you access and use the Site and Services we may automatically collect certain details of your access to and use of the Site and Services, including location data, and other communication data and the resources that you access and use on or through the device.

Device Information. We may collect information about your mobile device and Internet connection, including the device’s unique device identifier, IP address, operating system, browser type and mobile network information.

We may create Anonymous Information records from Personal Information by excluding information (such as your name) that makes the information personally identifiable to you. We may use this Anonymous Information for internal purposes, such as analyzing usage patterns so that we may enhance our BTR Site and Services, and we also reserve the right to use and disclose any Anonymous Information at our discretion.

BTR may collect Anonymous Information. When such data is not combined with personally identifiable information (“PII”), such information is considered to be non-personally identifiable, as it does not personally identify you or any other user of the BTR Services or Site. Additionally we may aggregate PII in a manner such that the resulting aggregate information does not personally identify you or any other user of the Site or Service, for example, by using PII to display content according to your zip code. Such aggregate information is considered non-personally identifiable. Because non-personally identifiable information does not personally identify you, we may use such information for any purpose. For example, we may use this information for BTR internal use to enhance web security, to detect broad demographic trends, to assist BTR in providing content on the Site tailored to your interests, and to otherwise enhance your experience on this Site and Service. This information may also be shared with third parties on an aggregate and non-personally identifiable basis.

BTR has put in place commercially reasonable and appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online. However, no company, including BTR, can fully eliminate security risks associated with Personal Information. We cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to us through the Services or store on the Site and you do so at your own risk. We also cannot guarantee that such information may not be accessed, disclosed, altered, or destroyed by breach of any of our physical, technical, or managerial safeguards.

If you provide feedback to us, we may use and disclose such feedback for any purpose, provided we do not associate such feedback with your Personal Information. We will collect any information contained in such feedback and will treat the Personal Information in it in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

Except as otherwise stated in this Privacy Policy, we do not use or share your Personal Information with third parties, unless you ask or authorize us to do so.

We may provide your Personal Information to third parties who work on behalf of or with us to provide some of the services and features of the BTR Site and Services. However, these service providers do not have any independent right to use this information except as necessary to help us in providing the Services, but they may have the same rights to disclose such information as BTR has under this section “Disclosure of Personal Information”.

In the future, we may share some or all of your Personal Information with our parent company, any subsidiaries, joint ventures, or other companies under a common control with BTR (collectively, “Affiliates”), in which case we will require our Affiliates to honor this Privacy Policy.

In the event BTR goes through a business transition such as a merger, acquisition by another company, or sale of all or a portion of its assets, your Personal Information will likely be among the assets transferred. You acknowledge that such transfers may occur, and that any acquirer of BTR or its assets may continue to use your Personal Information as set forth in this Privacy Policy. You hereby consent to BTR sharing your Personal Information under the above circumstances.

We may disclose information we have collected from and about you (including Personal Information) if we believe in good faith that such disclosure is necessary to (a) comply with relevant laws or to respond to subpoenas or warrants served on us; (b) to enforce our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy; or (c) to protect and defend the rights or property of us, the visitors and users of our Site and Services, or third parties.

  1. Choices Regarding Personal Information

Unsubscribe instructions will accompany each promotional communication you receive from us. You may also indicate that you do not wish to receive promotional communications from BTR.

We will send you strictly service-related announcements (such as, but not limited to, notices of any updates to our BTR Site and Services, Terms of Service or Privacy Policy) when it is necessary to do so. You may not opt-out of these communications, which are not promotional in nature. You understand that any termination of your relationship with BTR may involve deletion of your information from our live databases and all the information and data that you and any Participants may have provided. BTR will not have any liability whatsoever to you for any termination or related deletion of your information or data.

When we delete information that we have collected from or about you, it will be deleted from our active databases but may remain in our archives.

  1. Links to Other Websites

The BTR Site and Services may contain links to other websites that are not owned or controlled by BTR. The provision of such links is for your convenience and does not signify our endorsement of such websites or location or its contents. We have no control over, do not review and are not responsible for the privacy policies of or content displayed on such other websites. Please be aware that the terms of our Privacy Policy do not apply to any outside websites.

  1. Changes in this Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy is a living document and BTR reserves the right to make changes at any time.   As part of BTR’s Terms of Service, this Privacy Policy is subject to occasional amendment, in accordance with the Terms of Service. We will notify you about significant changes in the way we treat your information, including by placing a prominent notice on the Site. Please revisit this page periodically to stay aware of any changes to this Privacy Policy. For the avoidance of doubt, disputes arising hereunder will be resolved in accordance with the Privacy Policy in effect at the time the dispute arose.

The Site and Services are intended for users located in the United States. You hereby acknowledge that your personal information may be processed in the country in which it was collected and in other countries, including the United States, where laws regarding processing of personal information may be less stringent than the laws in your country.

  1. Protecting Children’s Privacy

Our Site and Services are not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not intentionally collect or use any Personal Information from children who identify themselves as being under the age of 13. If a parent or guardian becomes aware that his or her child has provided us with information without their consent, he or she should contact us and we will delete such information from our files within a reasonable time.

Some third parties such as analytics providers and advertising networks may collect information about your online activities over time and across different websites when you access or use our Site or Services.

At this time BTR Site and Services do not recognize automated browser signals regarding tracking mechanisms, which may include ‘do not track’ instructions. However, you can change your privacy preferences regarding the use of cookies and similar technologies through your browser. You may set your browser to accept all cookies, block certain cookies, require your consent before a cookie is placed in your browser, or block all cookies.
